Advocacy

HOLA Lakeway is committed to strengthening our community by supporting each other through advocacy. Our advocacy program has focused on educating the community on various policies, and how these policies may affect everyday life.

Day on the Hill

In 2023, HOLA embarked on our first ever Day on the Hill! We were joined by students from Walters State Community College and Carson-Newman University.  HOLA has partnered with Education Trust in Tennessee to attend our first Day on the Hill.  These fearless students received training in order to meet with state legislators, including those who represent their respective counties, to advocate on their own behalf.

Advocating in the Lakeway Area

We participate in local meetings and conversations to advocate for our community, advocate for equitable education, and civil engagement activities.

HOLA also provides training in order to open spaces where underrepresented communities can have a voice.
